The Bollock Daggers

Not available on line
The Bollock Dagger, have you ever had a bollocking? Well this is where the saying comes from. The Famous Bollock Dagger is found in a variety of forms from the 1300's evolving through the Dudgeon dagger 16th 17th centuries into the present day Scottish dirk. Rod specialises in Hand carved examples of this highly collectable handle, which is fitted to top quality blades from the six-inch banquet size to the 14-inch Plantagenet. Many examples of this handle were found on the wrecked Mary Rose (Henry VIII Flagship), preserving a general picture of early Tudor examples. Rod was honoured to carve exact replica's of the Gunners dagger and the Archers Dagger which are fitted to our own hand forged interpretations of the blades found on the wreck, these are now on show at the Mary Rose Trust Museum Portsmouth. We are pleased to continue our association with the trust and will be staging an exhibition of the Tudor Cutlers art at Portsmouth on Nov 4th 2001.
